Being Idiot

Everyone wants to be an intelligent and no one like to be an idiot.  Being an idiot is also a kind of contribution to others that many idiots would not capable of understanding it because, they are idiots.  But the fact is that every one of us is an idiot and continues to be so in some part of the life, but seldom agrees and promulgates.   We do not want to be perceived as idiots even though we are.    Being idiot is not easy for us because we feel that it is an inferior state of life.  On contrary, the fact is that being idiot is the happiest of way of life.   How many of us able to observe the life of idiots?  They are happier than the intelligent people.  They enjoy life better than clever people.   In fact, they are the people who make the life interesting for themselves and others.  There are several reasons while idiots enjoy the life better than intelligent humans.  The first reason is they are h...

Advani Exits - Modi Enters

These days, the drama of BJP is interesting and pretty curious to entire Indian political fraternity.  Modi’s elevation as PM candidate was a foregone conclusion since he was appointed as BJP election committee chairman.   But the curious fact was Advani’s reaction.  In all these months, he was in multiple emotions such as mute, anger, submissive, helpless, rebellious, cornered, and hurt.  We can use any words that reflect his mood of powerlessness after making BJP as one of the most powerful party in political history of India.  Now he is eating his own pride in front of his ideological guardians, RSS. This is the typical subcontinent political mindset of elderly politicians. Isn’t it?  They would never leave their place until their demise except very few like VP Singh, Vajpayee and Joyti Basu.  But this list is very feeble.   They believe that it is their birth right to occupy the top position and remain there forever.  It s...

Are we independent enough?

Rahul, not our royal clan member, the 12 years old boy is happy and look forward of this wonderful day, August 15, 2013.  He scantly remembers the Independence Day that he got handful sweets at school when his parents were alive.  Now, he is not bothered of handful of sweets and is not ready to peep in any government school to enjoy flag hoisting and sweets, because he has to fill three stomachs on daily basis.  His grandmother and two of his own sibling living in Delhi slumps are waiting on his income generated from garbage collections. He has a daunting task on daily basis to collect at least three sacks of garbage and sit on a suitable place to segregate them into plastics, papers, card boards, cans, etc.,   He need to make sure that he would sell them for at least 200 Rupees to make sure that his family is safe for next two days.  But then, 200 Rupees is always luxury for him as he rarely reaches his target. August 15 is always a great day for...

Expatriates and challenges

‘People who are looking to own a first home by living in a second home’ is my definition for gulf expatriates. In 70 and 80s millions of expatriates were brave enough to go to gulf countries in search for a decent life. Today, these left over millions, especially in Saudi Arabia are questioning their bravery, in fact, wondering was it worth! Often this group looks so naïve and foolish in front their own cousins who have built better job career, businesses and life in their countries against multiple odds. It is not a major worry for people who migrated in end of nineties or early two thousands, because these particular groups have the advantage of age in addition to better professional educational qualification to find jobs in their home country or elsewhere. They are also not far away from the social and business environments of their home countries. They can relatively mingle with existing social circumstances and relocate with certain ease. The question remains more disquietin...

Rapes and Crimes in India

Past couples of month’s media and responsible citizens are up in arms against government of India to bring credible law that can curb rising rapes and crimes against women and children.  The media is frequently reporting every single rape incidents that it can have access to the crimes and reports.  The media is doing exceptionally well in bringing a major awareness among public to eliminate rape and crimes against women. Thousands of rapes in villages are not reported and registered sighting various local and family reasons.  In cities too, many such cases are advised to hide to avoid future consequences of girls and women.  Only few cases were reported by victims.  As expected they have been being languished in police stations and courts for various court procedures and incompetent law enforcement.  The criminals continue to enjoy their life and in fact commit more rapes and crimes. Well, the question is where is the ...

The Right to Defend

Today, I happened to read a statement by President Obama supporting Israel for its ‘right to defend’. I have no problem in the spirit and meanings of the statement ‘right to defend’, but my issue is ‘what are we defending?’ Obama, the democratically elected and the champion of freedom could not able to see the defending of Israeli’s right at the expense of Gazan’s right. Defending of Israel’s civilians at the death of Gazan’s civilians. Defending of one particular country at the expense other country’s freedom. Well… we should not be surprised! Couple of days ago two young girls were arrested in Mumbai for posting a comment in Facebook, in fact questioning the Mumbai bandh upon the death of Bal Thakery, who rose to prominence through intimidation, violence, vandalism and communal rights. Those two girls were arrested at the behest of complaint by Shiv Sena’s local office bearers and charged with the offense of instigating communal enmity. These poor girls were forced ‘not to defend’...

Games within the game – Corrupted Anti Corruption Movement

The cat is out. My apprehension about the leaders of Anti Corruption Movement is right. (Refer my article on June 6, 2012). Anna Hazare disbanded his team and supported the idea of forming a political party to fight against corruption. His strategy of forcing or shaking the top and attracting the grass root or low level support have finally shows that how awfully wrong it is. The educated mass in India is genuinely worried about country, but will not ready to involve in street fight against the system. They will support, provided the movement has a strong volunteers including middle and field managers or leaders to keep the movement going with energy. Anna does not have such back up and therefore fall into the trap of Anti-Congress parties to provide necessary head counts. Finally, the anti-congress parties have decided to absorb the Anna and his team and ready to offer some space. The space is going to be a new political party without money and muscles and subsequently will completel...

Ramadan Diary – Mankind and Devils (Shaitan)

Once in a Ramadan a Mughal king assembled his mid-night club members for a Hukah smoke. A leading poet impressed the king and audiences with an interesting couplet about Ramadan and devils. ‘During Ramadan, all devils (shaitan’s) are chained and locked’. He paused and other members were curious to know second line of the couplet. ‘And all those chained and locked devils (shaitans) are here in the mid-night club’. He completed with greater appreciation from other members. Devils are impressively smarter and stronger especially when we have less or no control in our self. Devils also perfect in their work with only one clear and straight forward objective of misleading the humans. The ‘right’ has limited liberty whereas the ‘wrong’ has all the freedom in the world and therefore the devils have no limitation. Devils do their SWOT analysis well because they know that mankind love to do ‘wrongs’ with great excitement and exhilaration. Mankind is created with fair amount of weakness and ...

Ramadan Diary – Faith and Freedom

Past couple of weeks, I had witnessed a pigeon comfortably sitting on a plastic bucket that was kept on my open balcony shelves. She always glimpses at me before it decides whether to fly or stay depends on my body language. Mostly she stays by staring at me and I never disturbed it because I knew that she was incubating with its eggs. The pigeon might have accidently chooses to live in my balcony for her incubation, but she has triggered my inquisitive mind to analyze our human life in context of ‘faith’. Faith is the basic agreement between Creator and creatures. Faith is the foundation to build spiritual and material experiences. Faith is the nucleus of life system. We all exist and function in this world because we have faith in our own context and understanding. The pigeon likes to live wherever possible and we need a comfortable home by carefully selecting the location, convenience, and of course need to consider our social, political and geographical constraints. The pigeo...

Ramadan Diary - Introduction

The ascendency of spiritual celebration could never be more enjoyable than the month of Ramadan. A month long prayers coupled with joy and feelings of getting closer to Allah is something that every Muslim looks forward to enjoy once in a year. The eternal pleasure of knowing, understanding, feeling of Allah and His endless presence can be well realized in Ramadan, in fact subject to our total surrender to Him. If there any prayers with lots of celebration, it is Ramadan, because one can enjoy his or her prayers as much as they wants. I am writing about the spiritual celebration that liberates the mind and body from worldly matters and smooth the path of self purification in attaining multiple rewards from Allah. Exerting the control on mind and body with a sole objective of achieving peace with Allah, the Creator of universe could never be explained with words of any languages. It is more of a personal relationship and closely confined to our hearts only. In Ramadan the mankind a...

Narendra Modi’s three days fasting and the truth

When Modi began his high profile fasting with millions of rupees spent on tents, reception for other leaders, security wings and media, my only question is ‘why now, why was it not done in 2002 immediate after Gujarat riots?’. Yes, I can guess the answers! Here it is. If you want to succeed in politics, you must know how to kill or control your conscience. Modi is trying to kill his guilty conscience by fasting for three days in order make him a popular choice of BJP prime minister candidate. He needs to outsmart scores of BJP chatterbox politicians who are all busy in making noises in and around Delhi. He also need to make sure that there is ‘harmony and unity’ in BJP to achieve his personal ambition including dethroning of Advani Ji. Politicians always knows how to generalize their personal ambition to their party ambition or people’s ambition by coining with sweet words that are exciting to masses and inviting to media. While people are averse to futuristic decisions, but media...

Two generations and 2G

Once Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) hurriedly left the Mosque immediate after a congregational prayer and his companions were wondering of his action. When the Prophet returned to Mosque his companions were curious to know the reasons. He told them that there was a piece of gold in his house and was disturbing his concentration level in prayers. Therefore, he went and asked his wife to disburse immediately as charity to the needy. Stephen R. Covey, an authority on leadership emphasized the necessity of ‘principle’ centered life in his book ‘The seven habits of highly effective people’ in chapter ‘begin with the end mind’. The ‘end’ or precisely the objective of many politicians in India is not principles of public service or social service rather a ‘private service’, eventually a self service. These self servitude politicians amassed wealth after wealth and subsequently positioned their life as ‘wealth centered’ life. The money and power clout allow them to be planted on top of Indian poli...

Games within the game – Anti corruption movement in India

Anna Hazare must be credited for his excellent initiative in bringing corruption as a primary issue of national politics past three months. He along with other civil society leaders have approached all political parties to take up the Lak Pal bill in parliament and as expected none of the political parties shows any interest forcing Anna Hazare to take the Ghandian tool fasting unto death. Yesterday’s midnight drama of Baba Ramdev’s eviction made this anti-corruption movement to hit the snags. Unfortunately for civil society and fortunately for political class the Lok Pal issues and discussions are conveniently at the hands of political masters. Thanks to 2G spectrum, corruption reached a new peak and every Indian must be ashamed of. But how long? We, the common people are known for forgetting one issue after another and political masters are known for creating one after other. The vicious cycles do not stop at all and we are immune to scams and money lootings. Corruption mechanis...

Sleep – a sensational state of mind in darkness

‘Sleep’ is the essential part of any living beings on this earth. Everything sleeps at a particular time and or period and is inbuilt in biological programs of body in congruent with organic form of life. Plants, trees, insects, worms, animals and mankind all are having this quality rather habit of ‘sleep’ and consumes almost one quarter of their life in ‘sleeping’ status. Ironically, mankind does not give enough attention and care to the status of ‘sleeping’ in other word the ‘unconscious nature or state’ of life. Instead we give as much as importance to ‘awaken or conscious nature or state’ of life. Since it is a natural occurrence and effected due to the tiredness of nerves and muscles, we human beings leave this entire stage to the natural process and mystery. In fact, both status of life plays vital role in refurbishing the human energy, yet mankind simply not interested or become insignificant to the dark affairs of life. Life is not naturally imbalanced, but unnaturally, due to ...

Pakistan, hard truth and the future

Pakistan once again proved to the world that they are failing as a nation. The recent surgical operation by US army in eliminating Osama Bin Laden, perhaps an outrageous action against the sovereignty of Pakistan is a clear example of how Pakistan is administrating themselves. The country is governed by three command system and each one believes that they are superior to others. The civilian head of the nation, the president is simply not in control of other two strong establishments Army and ISI. Though constitutionally the president is supreme commander of the nation, invariably the other two establishments always ignore the president and do what they want. These three command systems with three different objectives not only destroying Pakistan and in fact responsible for the region’s persisting problems. Osama’s family was living in Pakistan for the past six years itself a proof that there is a proper network system is functioning or supporting him. Osama was not a coward like Sa...

Thank God for thankless job

This poem was written when I strep down as Chairman of IISJ.  In fact, these reflections may suit and are common to any public and social activists. Passion of education brought me to the spot Does it worth? Deliberated a lot Hesitation of angels, an invitation to devils Service to society is a devotion to God Accept the challenges and unveil the courage Common cause, gave me the heart Conviction brought me to the convention Commitments enthrall the motion ‘Herd’ I am not part of it, because I ‘think’ Reaching the bottom is the reverence of clarity Finding the root cause is the veneration of my serenity Solution is not an illusion, rather is my efficacy Simplicity is my method, sincerity is my weapon Honestly is my domain, patience is my strength Adding value is my strength, avoiding glory is my satisfaction Led them from front, Chairs don’t give cheers Yesterday’s intelligence failing in reality Today’s problems rattling the past cleverness Tomorrow’s vision – may n...
