Does your business know how to spy?

Image
Flap of a butterfly in Brazil can create a tornado in Texas is a famous chaotic theory explaining the sensitive nature of business.    Too many small things or effects are uncovered in our business and in daily life let alone understanding the causes.  Everyday there are butterfly flaps happening around us and we gave very little attention to it, because, we always worry about bigger effects and failures.  Often, we fail to understand that the bigger failure is the collection of smaller failures that keep happening in our daily life.  While we may have one or two mechanism to uncover the internal warnings using strong business intelligence tools and holistic monitoring of data analyses, but we have very little control on external sensitive developments.   Knowing the business landscape and our company position or vulnerability is paramount to sustainability.  Most businesses fall in trouble due to failure in understanding the butterfly changes that is happening in and around t

Driving in reverse gear

We can, some have, except an idiot driving in opposite direction, but we are perplexed with the reverse driving in Indian politics.  BJP, the party is always at best to drive in reverse direction, better known as retrogressive force, now have a competition with RJD and JD(U).   SJP is waiting to jump into the fray soon when UP assembly elections are due.  Yes, for next three years we are going to witness the fight between Kamandal and Mandal.  If this is called ‘development’ spearheaded by BJP, then we need to produce millions of brooms to clean the country for next fifteen years.  It is all started with drifting of Modi from ‘development agenda’.  I have one or more reasons to wonder whether Modi has really drifted away or we misread the word ‘development’.  Today, the meaning of development, at least, to me seems ‘development of divisive politics to consolidate Hindu votes’.  Will Modi or Amit will take a pain to address the right meaning of development in coming days to dispel

Social Jungle

Image
Man is a social animal and true to this affix he made the society to be his jungle.  He always found ways to complicate anything he can touch and in the process he unravels new ideas and thoughts.  Man is a funny creature because sometime he works in divine mode and many times works on devil intentions.  Fun apart, jungles have no regulations and animals have only one rule that is ‘kill to survive’.  Now, the market is full of competing businesses with warfare tactics and effectively killing each other to survive.  Is it something to do with the imbibed characteristic ever since the first man Adam came to this world or behavioral characteristic emboldened through survival challenges?  Adam’s two sons had a bitter bloody fight for a girl and subsequently younger one killed the elder.  The bloodshed started from there and the rest is our world.  In social jungle, we exhibit the same characteristics of killing others using not swords, but words.  In social jungle where everyone i

Ingredients for successful campaigns

Success is the combination of the hard work with smart minds.  However, to lead a team of hardworking professionals and sometime naughty smart minds, the leader should possess strong intellectual charms.  The capability to drive the team towards the objectives without messing it up while adapting various skills in composing a winning song is possible if the leader has the charismatic intelligence.  Because, use of those talents in the journey of successful campaign is altogether a different proposition as they will all be using different instruments to create a perfect symphony.   While the business leader knows how to handle hard working professionals and smart minds, the article is also about necessary ingredients for a successful advertising campaign.  Any successful campaign starts with defining the objective in clear terms and securing the resources including talents to hit the results.   The necessary ingredients are: a)       Setting objectives:  The primary task prio

People's President Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam

Abdul Kalam is a Arabic name meaning, slave of speech.  Kalam is from the root word of ‘kallam’ which means ‘say or speak’ which is popularly referred to the words of Allah, the Quran.  True to his name his speeches or advises or lectures are always thoughtful, innovating, inspiring, important, relevant and much needed.  His wisdom of knowledge coupled with versatile experiences in life made him a precious human asset for India.  He present his thought and ideas by touching the emotional chords of listeners, be it to intellectuals or school children is a unique quality.  He is not an idealist, but idea generator by igniting the inquisitive minds of listeners with his wisdom of sparks.  The listeners either they are European Parliamentarians or assembly of world leaders, he spell bound them with his idea of world that is nothing but the grandeur of blossoming peace and prosperity.   When asked once, what will you send with the missiles, he answered that he wants to send ‘bouquet o

Business Intelligence

Most businesses fail not because of external competition or threats only, but due to internal conflicts aided by external pressures.  Failing to recognize internal changes leads to organizational conflicts resulting in tremendous disorder among people and further affecting the product and profits.  Internal transformation is vital in adapting external inevitable.  Recognizing internal transformations and further aiding them to positive effects are necessary to cope with external alterations.  If not, the unnoticed internal transformations will eventually leads to painful failures.   Failing to recognize or guiding or terminating internal transformations due to human conflicts existing in every small to big organizations.  Eighty percent of companies falter over a period of time due to equivocal challenges in market place, losing the battle in new competitions, erosion of talents to competitors because of inflexibility in adapting business transformations though there is enough

Teaching is learning

I have recently conducted a one day marketing training course to young and established marketing executives in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Knowledge is a powerful tool if it is allowed to exchange.  While the experience is absolutely mine but the knowledge is not. Knowledge and experience need to be shared in order to enlarge our own knowledge bucket and be ready for new experiences. Marketing is a phenomenal ability combining ideas, relevance, values, strategy, planning and communication.  Marketing is the backbone of any business and contributes immensely in business growth if it is performed with due relevance.  Many of the companies in Saudi Arabia, especially, the small and medium establishments thinks that Marketing is all about setting up sales agenda and outlets.  Marketing is not sales or advertising only.  It is more about exchanging values between company and customers.  People may buy the products for a price, but expects uncompromising values to remain loyal to the product

Delhi election results is a beginning of Young India Movement

Young India is in despair, angry and often helpless due to extravagant approach and attitude of ‘I know it all’ politicians whose style and functioning have generally splinted their own fraternity in covering one another faults and crimes.  They dug under the pretext of wisdom and experience and prevented Young India in giving any space for active participation in politics.  Wisdom and experience may have its association with time, but not necessarily connected with the advancement of age only.  The old horses were pulling India at their own speed and clamped the progress of the country; otherwise, the natural growth is often pulling the country out of woods.  The law of natural growth is taken as the personal achievement of some of the political parties and individuals and failed to give necessary impetus to nation for the growth it deserved.  Young India is pushed to IT corridors, university campus, night clubs, employment offices, street corners and used as a donkeys to carry
